Hospitals where doctors spend their time with patients.

We connect the systems your hospital already uses and build the software that is still missing. Online bookings go straight into the record. Patients fill in their questionnaires at home before admission. Discharge letters are drafted for the doctor to check and sign. AI tools are tested on your own patient data before you buy them.

The patient path

A patient's stay, from booking to discharge.

01

Booking

Patients book by phone or email. Staff send the confirmation and the preparation instructions by hand.

ImprovementOnline booking with automatic confirmations, so reception spends less time on the phone.

02

Before admission

Patients fill in the questionnaires and consent forms on paper, at the desk, on the morning of surgery.

ImprovementPatients answer the questionnaires online at home, and the answers go straight into the record. The consent discussion with the doctor stays in person.

03

Admission

Staff enter personal and insurance data into the hospital information system (HIS).

ImprovementThe data the patient gave at online booking fills in the admission record, and staff confirm identity and insurance data instead of typing them again.

04

Diagnostics

Laboratory and imaging orders go out, and the results come back into the record.

ImprovementResults arrive over the laboratory interface. PDF reports from partner laboratories are read into the record and checked by staff.

05

Treatment

Doctors and nurses document every step, and each procedure is coded for billing.

ImprovementAn AI summary of earlier documents in complex cases, and billing codes suggested automatically.

06

Discharge

The doctor writes the discharge letter from the record, the laboratory results and the imaging reports.

ImprovementThe letter is drafted from the record, so the doctor finishes it within the shift.

07

Follow up

Outcome questionnaires go out on paper, or not at all.

ImprovementQuestionnaires go out online, and the answers are stored in the record.

The goal

Better care with the staff you have.

For the hospital

  • More patients treated with the same staff
  • Fewer insurance claims returned for wrong diagnosis or procedure codes
  • A new system plugs into one integration layer, without a separate integration project each time

For doctors and nurses

  • Less typing and copying between systems
  • Discharge letters finished within the shift
  • All of the patient's data in one place

For patients

  • Clear preparation instructions before the day of surgery
  • A doctor who has time to explain
  • The discharge letter in hand when they leave
Problems and solutions

What we hear, and what we do about it.

Reception spends the day on the phone.

Online booking writes the appointment into the scheduling system and the record. The confirmation, the preparation instructions and the reminders go out automatically.

Digitalisation and workflow automation
Day surgery patients arrive with the questionnaire still blank.

The questionnaire goes out with the booking confirmation, together with the fasting and preparation instructions. The patient fills it in at home, the answers are summarised before admission, and the anaesthetist opens a summary in the record.

Digitalisation and workflow automation
Each new system is another interface project with the HIS supplier.

We write the interface specification and tell you the effort before you sign. We test the connection, including what happens when it fails, and give your IT team written instructions for the day a link goes down. Where several systems need the same data, we build one integration layer, so the next system connects to it once.

Interoperability
Doctors finish the shift writing discharge letters.

The software drafts the letter from the record and shows where each statement came from. The doctor checks, edits and signs it. Before an AI summary goes live, its status under the EU MDR and the EU AI Act (the EU regulation on artificial intelligence) is written down. In complex cases an AI summary of the earlier documents saves reading them one by one.

Digitalisation and workflow automation
Three AI vendors have pitched to us, and we cannot compare them.

We compare the vendors against your criteria and test the shortlisted tool on your own patient data before you sign. An AI tool that comes with a HIS update is tested the same way. We do not sell or resell any AI product.

Clinical AI selection and integration
We are afraid of a project that never ends.

Each step is a separate contract with a written result. The first one can be a single module in one department.

How we work
Staff will not accept another system.

We start from how the ward works today, and the new step replaces a manual one instead of adding to it. After go live we train the staff and stay on call for four weeks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

01

Can you connect a new system to our HIS?

Where the HIS offers an interface (HL7 v2 (a standard for exchanging clinical messages), FHIR (a web standard for exchanging health records) or a documented API) and the licence allows its use, yes. We read the interface documentation, specify the connection, state the effort before the contract and agree the test plan with the HIS supplier where their side has to change.

02

Will the connection to the national record keep working if we replace a system?

Yes. The new system is specified so that the national connection (Telematikinfrastruktur in Germany, ELGA in Austria, EESZT in Hungary) stays in place, and the go live plan tests it before the old system is switched off.

03

Can discharge letters be drafted automatically?

As drafts, yes. The letter is assembled from the record, each statement linked to its source entry, and the clinician edits and signs it. The pilot measures documentation minutes per discharge and the share of drafts that need editing.

04

Three AI vendors want a pilot. How do we choose?

We read each vendor's intended use, clinical evidence, regulatory status, where the model runs and where the data goes, build a scoring matrix for your criteria and measure the shortlisted tool on a retrospective set of your own patients before you sign. Silurus Software does not sell or resell any AI product.

05

How is patient data protected during the project?

Patient data stays in your systems and we work on it there. Anything that has to leave, for example a test data set, is pseudonymised, stays in the EU and is covered by a data processing agreement, with Silurus Software as processor. We prepare the data protection impact assessment with your data protection officer. In the US, the same work runs under HIPAA and a business associate agreement.

06

What does a first project cost, and how fast can it start?

The first call is free. Each step after it is quoted individually, with scope, deliverable, duration and price agreed in writing. We reply within one business day, and a project can start within two to three weeks of signature.
