Imaging centres with fewer manual steps from booking to the signed report.

We connect the systems your MR, CT or PET CT centre already uses and build the software that is still missing. Patients get their preparation instructions with the booking. The scanner console takes patient and procedure from the order. Signed reports reach the referring doctor electronically. AI triage tools are tested on your own studies before you buy them.

The patient path

An examination today, from the order to the report.

01

Order and booking

The referral arrives, and staff choose the slot by modality and examination.

ImprovementThe slot and the preparation instructions follow from the examination ordered, so patients arrive prepared.

02

Preparation and safety

Staff check fasting, the MR safety questionnaire and the contrast history by phone before the day.

ImprovementPatients answer the safety and contrast questions at home, and a radiographer checks them in advance.

03

Acquisition

The radiographer registers the patient at the console and types in the patient data.

ImprovementThe console takes patient and procedure from the order, so patient details are not typed at the scanner.

04

Archive

The images are stored in the PACS and sent to the reading workstation.

ImprovementImages are routed to the archive, the reading workstation and AI tools without manual steps.

05

Reading

The radiologist works through the worklist and dictates the report.

ImprovementUrgent studies are moved to the top of the worklist, so they no longer wait behind routine controls.

06

Report and delivery

The signed report goes to the referring doctor and the patient.

ImprovementThe report reaches the referrer electronically, and the referrer can see its status while it is pending.

The goal

More examinations per scanner day, with reports that arrive when they are due.

For the centre

  • Fewer scanner slots lost to patients who arrive unprepared
  • Report turnaround read from timestamps the RIS and PACS already hold
  • A new PACS, RIS or AI tool connected through interfaces that are specified and tested

For radiographers and radiologists

  • Patient and procedure arrive at the console from the order
  • Urgent studies at the top of the worklist
  • Safety questionnaire checked before the patient arrives

For patients

  • Preparation instructions with the booking and again the day before
  • The MR safety questions answered at home
  • The report with the doctor who ordered the scan
Problems and solutions

What we hear, and what we do about it.

PET CT patients arrive unprepared, and the tracer is already ordered.

We set the preparation for each examination, for example fasting for PET CT and a recent creatinine value for contrast studies. The instructions go out with the confirmation and again the day before.

Digitalisation and workflow automation
A radiographer phones around for a creatinine value and the MR safety answers.

The patient answers the MR safety questions on implants and the contrast history at home. A radiographer checks the answers before the patient arrives, and the creatinine value is attached where contrast is planned.

Digitalisation and workflow automation
Patient data is typed in at the scanner console, and a typo creates a study nobody can match.

We fill the modality worklist (the list of scheduled examinations sent to the imaging device) from the booking, so the console takes patient and procedure from the order. We test what happens when the order changes or the patient does not arrive.

Interoperability
Referring doctors call to ask whether the report is ready.

Signed reports reach the referrer as an HL7 v2 (a standard for exchanging clinical messages) ORU message or a FHIR (a web standard for exchanging health records) DiagnosticReport. A portal can also show the referrer the status while the report is pending.

Interoperability
Urgent findings wait in the same queue as routine controls.

We first read the turnaround from the RIS and PACS timestamps for each modality, examination type and radiologist. This shows whether the wait is in the worklist or in the delivery, and each needs a different fix. In the worklist, urgency comes from the priority on the order, and an AI tool reorders the list only when it is CE marked for that use.

Medical imaging software
An AI triage tool that works on someone else's scanners may not work on ours.

We test the shortlisted tool on a set of your own past studies, from your own scanners and protocols. The correct results are agreed with your chief radiologist in advance. Where the workflow allows it, the tool first runs in the background before it changes the worklist. We do not sell or resell any AI product.

Clinical AI selection and integration
We are afraid of being tied to the PACS or RIS supplier for every change.

We write the specification of each interface and tell you the effort before you sign. Your IT team gets the specification, the test records and written instructions for the day a link goes down.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

01

Can the modality worklist be filled from our booking system?

Yes, if the booking system or the RIS can send the order. The order goes to the worklist over HL7 v2 or the RIS interface, and the scanner console takes patient and procedure from it.

02

Can referring doctors receive reports electronically and see whether they are ready?

Yes. A signed report can go to the referrer as an HL7 v2 ORU message or a FHIR DiagnosticReport, or through a portal that also shows the status of the examination. Where reports and images are shared through a national record, the systems are Telematikinfrastruktur and ePA in Germany, ELGA in Austria, EPD in Switzerland and EESZT in Hungary.

03

How do you validate an AI triage tool on our scans?

On a set of your own past studies, from your own scanners and protocols. The acceptance criteria and the correct results are agreed with your chief radiologist in advance. We check the patient groups where the tool performs worse. Where the workflow allows it, the tool first runs in the background before it changes the worklist. After go live we track how often radiologists override it, as a safety signal.

04

Who is responsible under the EU AI Act when we use an imaging AI tool?

The manufacturer carries the product duties. An imaging product in MDR Class IIa or above is a high risk AI system. Your centre carries the deployer duties of Article 26, which are human oversight, keeping the logs, monitoring and informing staff. We set these up as an AI register, a policy and a monitoring routine.

05

Do we have to replace our PACS or RIS?

No, if they have a documented interface. We connect new tools to the systems you run. When a PACS or RIS is being replaced, we write the requirements and a scoring matrix. The comparison is vendor neutral, because Silurus Software does not resell any product.

06

How is patient data protected during a project?

Patient data stays in your systems and we work on it there. Anything that has to leave, for example a test data set, is pseudonymised, stays in the EU and is covered by a data processing agreement, with Silurus Software as processor. In the US, the same work runs under HIPAA and a business associate agreement.

07

What does a first project cost, and how fast can it start?

The first call is free. Each step after it is quoted individually, with scope, deliverable, duration and price agreed in writing. We reply within one business day, and a project can start within two to three weeks of signature.
